Course Selection Post

The three elective courses I may be intrested in the future are Electronics 9, Metalwork and Comparative Civilizations 12. Through grade 8, I have mostly enjoyed anything related to wood, metal or anything electric, so I would like to continue learning about it. Civilizations 12 caught my eye and just seemed intresting to me.

Course Selection Fair Post

There was a Course Selection Fair on Wednesday to show us all the available options for grades 9-12. This was really helpful for me, because up to that point I had no idea there were so many choices. The three electives that looked interesting to me were Tech Ed, Home Ec, and Geography 12.

One of my first choices would be Industrial Technology Education or Tech Ed. I’m not sure if I would go back to Woodwork or Metalwork, or if I would try something entirely new. I am interested because I had a really great time there in Tech Ed 8, and I really enjoyed the environment there. If you need more information, just walk down to the Industrial Technology Department or call them at (604) 587-4812.

Another elective I am considering is Home Economics or Home Ec. I’m currently taking Home Ec, and I’m really enjoying it. It’s lots of fun, and you learn a lot of life skills. If you want to learn more, talk to any of the Home Ec teachers like Mr. Tong or Ms. Krishnan.

I actually thought that Geography 12 looked pretty interesting. I’m not sure if I will pursue any of the listed careers such as meteorologist or cartographer, but the course seems pretty interesting. I’ve done a few projects on topics that are covered during this course, and I thought that this course just looked really fun and interesting. If you need more information, try talking to your Social Studies teacher to find out more.
